I'm kinda w/Aleks S on this one. But I'm practically a Boomer in the sense that I was raised by the Silent Generation.
Yup, my parents had kids later then usual for those times.
I woke up this am with sore shoulders and back.
Yesterday was not a shoulder and/or back day, so WTF, I thought to myself.
And then I remembered, hauling 3 window mounted AC units to the 2nd floor and 3rd floor apartments for a few of moms friendsnin 100 degree weather.
Conclusion: yesterday was indeed a shoulder and back day.

I had a phone conversation today with a very nice young chap from Pakistan. This is how it went:
"Hello, how are you today?"
"I'm very well thank you for asking, how are you and more to the point, WHO are you?"
"Madam, my name is Sanjit, and I'm calling you from Microsoft.”
"Microsoft, is that a city in Pakistan?”
" No Madam, MICROSOFT, the computer company. I'm calling to tell you that we have found a problem with your computer.”
"REALLY, that's quite concerning.”
"Yes Madam, it can become very serious indeed but thankfully I will be able to fix it for you.”
"No, I meant it's very concerning because I don't HAVE a computer.”
“You don't?"
“No.”
"Ahh, it must be a problem on your laptop Madam.”
"Don't have one.”
"Ipad?"
"Nope.”
"Tablet?"
"I have none of those things. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a telephone.”
After a few seconds of silence he said "Madam, you are lying to me now!"
I said "Well, you started it!!" and put the phone down.
My sisters wonder how I am able to do what I do.
The answer is quite simple and obvious if they watch how I spend my minutes on any given day/week.

Scared = no. Bc you understand why she is the person she is.
For a while I physically struggled to get my mom in/out of bed or transition her to and from the bathroom. My whole body would ache the next from the physical effort required to do these things.
I watched a nurse do it one time (to show me the propér way).
Just using words and hand gestures she accomplish with minimal effort tasks that were wearing me out physically.
Man it was like watching a jutjitsu match.
I have a new appreciation for nurses. It's a rough freaking gig. Be grateful to her and what's she's done over that 45 year period for probably hundreds of families.
In short....Psychopathy can be used for good. IMO.
There are some that present themselves as sheep only bc they are tired.
Leave them be.

A stranger rides by on a bike zero reaction from the #Dogstr
She's been socialized to that as a puppy. As we've hiked the bike trails for many years, she knows to get out of the way and there's never a reaction.
However, if she sees a family member (or someone shes familiar with on a bike (myself included), aggressive reaction every time.
I understand what she's thinking. Not sure I want to fix it.
But pops is an avid biker. So may need to rethink that.

Thinking about my upcoming week and it's a bit overwhelming. Work, family, and personal to dos, a lot of them.
How am I going to get through it, you ask?!
Well, I'm going to plow through the week like a run away freight train moving at the speed of light.

Some of us recognize and understand at a young age that our most prescious asset in life is time.
While I've heard it all the time from the OGs as a youngerster. It didn't really sink in for me until I was 40 and had 3 HS friends (dlsame age) pass in one year within a few months of each other. One of them having left behind a wife with young children.
If you're under 30 and seeing this note. Save it and re-read it frequently. Don't waste it on things that aren't improving your life, be it in the short or long term.
In retrospect, my savings grace was that I became a parent in my early 20's. Had it not been that, there would have been a lot more wasted time.
