To clarify obviously 'weed' is used to refer to something from the Cannabis genus comprising of 3 main plant types and almost endless hybrid combinations. But saying weed has these effects is kind of wrong when you consider the miriad of different chemical combinations it can have.
If you want a get an idea of the variation ofeffects of some types of 'weed' go huff a load of lavender oil that's 'weed' or smell some 'limonene' that's 'weed' too. One gets you relaxed and sleepy the other makes you happy. There is even 'weed' that makes you energic like having a cup of coffee
There isn't a monolithic thing you take called 'weed'...Most people completely fail to understand this...even the ones who take it. So if you see all your friends who smoke a sleep inducing chemical concoction they call 'weed' of course you will think they are lazy, unmotivated, dozy, etc.
The reality is there are a plethora of effects it can have for people some beneficial some not depending on the person and what they want to do.

Salamanders that's great , had some newts turn up in a bucket a few years ago clearly need to get a proper pond dug out for them.
Just amazed how deep it goes! That bit didn't even have any plants on it just dried out oxidised soil just like that clay clump. The house is much less muddy too as I am not bringing in half the garden every time I plant something! 🙂
Buried lots of woody waste in it intially probably with some inverted turf and other organic material I removed from elsewhere then just compost on top grew lots of veg plants in it for years but never dug it over. I was busy building beds elsewhere in the garden so it it got a bit neglected and has been growing dandelions and garlic for the last season or two.
This was a hugelbed I made here donkeys years ago. I also had no money when I first moved in so I sunk concrete slabs into the ground to act as the sides.
The whole garden was this thick heavy clay with chunks of limestone in it so it's good to see this rich black soil has formed way further down than I was expecting. Time to reuse everything and make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Do you have much of a class structure there? It's definitely still here so it's really entertaining now issues are also hitting the upper middle class/ aristocratic people a bit further away from the money printer.
Obviously they have to put up with all the infrastructure falling apart too. You can't drive your Aston Martin on a potholed road easily after all! When they were unaffected by a lower inflation rate so now they are starting to hurt, things are going to get really interesting here quite soon....
We are definitely past peak woke and once people work out that incentive structure has exacerbated most of this hopefully we can start getting freedom of speech and all our other intrinsic rights respected again. That with hard money things will be looking really good for the future again, just need to avoid the pot holes on the road metaphorically and literally!
