Rumis (Blokus 3D)
Lovely little multiplayer abstract that you can play with non-gamers. It is the best physical version of Tetris that I have played. I have the original German game in wood. Blokus 3D is in plastic.
It was great to get back to my regular games club after a long holiday.
Modern Art has aged well. Pretty sure this was my first ever win.
Lifeboats is player-driven chaos in a way that has fallen completely out of fashion. Good to see a new Kickstarter - https://is.gd/7c8a6v
Both games seem much simpler 20+ years later.
We also played 5er Finden. Throw 5 dice with symbols. Against the clock draw 5 pentominos with all 5 symbols on a grid and score points. Timed Qwirkle..

Burak is the only Ark developer I have heard of, but is he still working on Ark? I was looking the other day and he's gone quiet.
Thank you. I didn't realise that. I suppose if you swap $100 of a transparent transaction into a shielded transaction in your wallet then it might be possible to deduce the source later.
What do you think about zcash? Not a shill - just wondering?
I woke up this morning in Doha. 😳 Good job we didn't miss our flight.
The Return
If you liked the original Gladiator, but couldn't handle more than 5 minutes of Gladiator 2 then give this a try. Feels realistic in a disciplined way.

I think this was the Ark whiteboard video that Paul Sztorc mentioned in the debate. https://youtu.be/EocWax43QgQ

Paul: Yeah but you have to trust the ecash mint guy that he’s acting in good faith
Alex: But it’s open source, you can look at the code.
FYI every DeFi rugpull in history and each and every ICO scam was open source too, the code was out there. Didn’t stop anyone from stealing

Lightning needs some tough love. So many problems still remain and progress is slow.

You're mostly right. Its not ideal but mainnet transaction fees and times are terrible and non custodial Lightning is far too fiddly and doesn't support async yet. 🤷♂️ Hopefully things will improve with time.
I just listened to a podcast with nostr:npub1xuk6qa7kx56rpu6r6kznmpf3rvlayuqc6k5rhrqm89aey5vwc7kqc5rm3r and nostr:npub1ey6qdmvzcgcsr883m9nspzz0mm037l26xtardzcskfsvc6gc7jssm9szvp that explained that misty breez is non-custodial but that Liquid's trust model is a multisig. I think that's an acceptable trade off for cheaper fees and no channel management. Better than Wallet of Satoshi anyway. Most importantly it supports async payments.

An Artist of the Floating World
Gentle and beautifully written. Ishiguro can write in any genre. I prefer The Sleeping Giant slightly but only because the atmosphere is so special in that book.
I enjoyed this but there are a few too many philosophical tangents and he is merciless with his father.
