I have a follow-up challenge if you’re interested: flat to depth without a horizon, without perspectival space.

Forgive me if this is presumptuous, but this one is starting to play with this when on its side (will delete after you see it):

and there is time too :)

love this, and the play between flat and space in the gradient and fields of color

really amazing qualities

🤔 For some reason this question reminded me how Ludwig Mies van der Rohe spent his whole career trying to figure out how to turn a corner.

I think because it is something seemingly simple and small and fundamental and yet can unfold and unfold and unfold and become mysterious.

Yes! And this is a time where those ideals in short supply! Everyone wants fulfillment and that’s no good.

the other aspect I suppose is what is the cost of rent vs mortgage? when we bought our place the mortgage + fees were actually $200 less each month than rent, so kinda no brain needed in that situation

I can sit with this, zoom into it with my imagination and explore, feel salt breeze, hear it in the life of leaves and grasses, smell the tang of the air, watch the vortexes in the water
