correction: Peter Duke is "thedukereport" on Substack.
Interesting! Peter Duke (peterdukereport on Substack) has also been going down the " what is consciousness" rabbit hole. Among his posts is the idea that human consciousness includes the ability to feel that "something is wrong" without being able to quantify or identify the anomaly, a form of self relection that you seem to address here.
If one believes as I do, that government is a tool by which the powerful maintain control over the proles that wildly outnumber them, public sector unions are literally a bunch of people who, unwittingly or not, are working to keep humanity from thriving, and also demand a bigger ransom from same to ensure that the boot remains firmly on the necks of those being "served". I share your disdain for them.
It’s REAL ID day! A day that will live in infamy..
I read that those without the proper papers will be allowed to fly after answering a few questions by telephone. If I were to be directed in that way, I would first want some of my own questions answered as well. After all, who knows who is on the other end of that call? Mohammed Atta had a fake state ID - but isn’t it even easier to pretend that you are some government type official on the end of a phone call?
I would ask the alleged official to send me a copy of his or her REAL ID for confirmation of identity, along with a valid government worker ID that shows that the official is truly an employee of the USG. Then I wold ask probing questions to determine if the person is truly woirking in a government building. I would ask for the phone number to call the person back and first check that number to see if it matches with a government office. Then I would ask the person which time zone are they in and maybe what tyoe of weather they are seeing locally and match that against the geographical information provided to me by the area code and phone number. After satisfactorily responding to my requests, then I would hesitantly provide what information the alleged officer requested, butr in the most vague and limited way that I may.
I guess I won’t be flying anywhere soon. Bring on the ocular scan.
Exactly. Gaza is the same thing. Sending the military, domestically as well as abroad, to expunge "threats to order" will be seen as something that "has to be done". It is normalising authoritarian sociopathy in the name of "protecting" the proles. The truth is that they are eliminating the proles who have any potential at all to threaten the powerful.
I'm unsure why the government doesn't simply have people take turns burning piles of money live on TV 24/7. It could be an "honour", like carrying the Olympic Torch. "Hey mom, be sure to be watching the government channel at 7.30p on Friday. I'm gonna be on TV!"
Maybe they can have "specials" where a prole or two gets murdered live on TV too. They can wrap him up in an American flag and say that "he died for his country" (to watch and be entertained).
and as soon as the next regime takes over, GoF could be right back on.
REAL ID can do that too.
55 years ago today, the US military shot and killed 4 unarmed college students at a protest against the Vietnam War. They even wrote a song about it. Strangely, I've never heard a student tell me that they learned about this in history class, or even in civics class, which I doubt even exists anymore. Of course, this could never happen again. Or....
LOL. Can I specify that my favourite person wouldn't hate me and go feral during the month? Cuz I could see that happening.
When I hear people babbling on about tariffs, it akes me think of the old Carlin bit: Al Sleet, your hoppy dippy weatherman. As he says, there's something way worse than tariffs brewing in the halls of your government, so I wouldn't sweat the tariffs too much.
When we were small children, my grandmother, behind my mother's back of course, took us to a fancy restaurant for lunch. We were well-behaved, ate with knife and fork, drank only water and my grandmother would always have me figure out the tip (15% in those days. I was five.), pay the waitress and count the change.
I caused quite a ruckus however when I asked to have STRAWBERRY ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert rather than the customary vanilla or chocolate. The waitress glared at me and my grandmother seemed horrified. I still love strawberry ice cream. :)
NEW - Scientology, The CIA, and MK-ULTRA
The first in a series investigating the intelligence connections to the Church of Scientology since its founding, including drug trafficking operations, founder L. Ron Hubbard’s work adjacent to the CIA’s MK-ULTRA, and their unprecedented infiltration of the US government.

I was there! Kinda. Almost. Back before the printing press, when I was in my late teens, I was approached by someone selling some sort of pirate newspaper. I struck up a conversation with the person and was led to 46 Beacon Street, where I voluntarily (I know, I was a chump then) took a "personality" test and then was invited to free food and to take some kind of biofeedback test, both of which I passed upon. I looked up the address just now and they claim it was run by "est" then, but I clearly remember the newspaper mentioning scientology. To its benefit, the publication was the first time I encountered a mention of "BZ", which the paper claimed was buried at some army base but now presented a problem as there was no way to excavate it without affecting hundreds of thousands of people.
Exactly. Getting old means watching your parents and friends spend their life savings on end of life care. Currently my best friend's brother, who cautiously saved his money in a passbook account, is a few months away from having spent the entire pile on nursing home care @$8k per month.
Any time that anyone uses the word "we", the first reaction should be "define "we"". "We" is the most overused and misused word in the Engish language.
LOL. I wasn't sure that people even played that anymore. Nice board!
exactly. Freedom isn't free. And no amount of killing one another will change that.
