This is about as fast as you can get for now, but we can do better.
Soon the rpc-over-lightning tech used in my #CLN iOS wallet app (https://lnlink.app) will be integrated directly in damus, so you will be able to pay instantly and non-custodially with your node without a VPN or Tor.
There will be many future integrations as well: pay with your #LND node via #LNC, "connect to your wallet" apis, and eventually a fully integrated #breez sdk wallet.
The goal for #damus is to make it the best possible social app that integrates seamlessly into #bitcoin protocols for fun and profit. We're just getting started!

You are sending notes to multiple relays (servers). Technically you can ask them to delete it if they implement some NIP, but you cannot really enforce it
Just add the lightning address in your profile. In Damus the field is the ‘Bitcoin Lightning Tips’
Damus will implement that soon. It is possible currently through command line. Don’t know any clients that have implemented that yet

Pick 4 with the lowest latency:
Yeah latency it’s a tricky indicator. Nostr.watch should also tell you stats on those servers like CPU and potentially memory. If the cpu is throttling latency can’t save you.
Been trying to remove and add relays all day since it was so slow, and this relay saved my ass today!
