This is true. Every new user to nostr can receive zaps using nostr:npub1s4m06xdlu6fuhfhs4m3nhpp8xdpsdprwccdktckkzusfu8qzzprqnfpz6a immediately by inputting @npub.cash into the Bitcoin Lightning tips section. They can claim their #zap sats in their wallet at https://npub.cash. nostr:note1elzmyr0z7hwy6pww6lsjcnz6vrnxjjrmj06wmcehrqq45yjx24fqp88ga9

Every time you get zapped you receive a notification in you DM requests box with a link to the wallet. Very convenient. Only thing needed is extension for safe login.

I ran a mint for a short period last year. It was pretty easy with LNbits. Few clicks.

There’s also the option of running your own mint, which I plan to do at some point, in which case the lightning backing the eCash would be self-custody.

I keep most of what I receive in zaps in the eNuts wallet for zapping on on nostr. If there’s ever a day (a guy can dream) I have a surplus of sats, I’ll transfer to a wallet I own.

I really like it. I transfer my balances to eNuts usually and zap from there. eNuts has npub integration so sending eCash over the protocol is simple, plus, zero fees. I like that you can stack eCash instead of having to pay little lightning fees on small transfers, too.
