Cool, I'm not familiar with crowdin, will check it out
Actually yes! That's on my todo. You provide translations for Farsi right?
Hi L, I'm the developer of Satellite. The communities feature is very new! There's a lot of work to do to make it more useful. I'm deploying a big update and better documentation in the next few days
I see. Still I think it's best to avoid fragmenting the protocol by having multiple file metadata standards. I don't think duplicating hashes and url/webseed is that big of a deal considering the benefit of having the sha256 and infohash be in their own tags and thus indexed/queryable on relays.
I'm curious, what do you think is wrong with the file metadata NIP?
That’s odd. I’ll look into it
Much more coming soon nostr:note1tjkxnm6jj9v3udkp3873z0rqt6gra3nda33q4pe2hy6w67kzpwwswhk94c
nostr:npub1vjxq75czca0nswp2f5kgtfyzhynuccdjs29q098rd3kv09k7s6nq39hh7v This feature will be in the next update!
This was a bug — should be working now!

Reminder that https://satellite.earth now supports two modes for ranking posts in communities:
- "Voting mode" (which is like Reddit, where you upvote/downvote stuff) or, alternately,
- "Zap mode" (where readers upvote posts by zapping them) and posts with the most sats appear at the top of the feed.
Whether to rank posts by votes or by zaps is a decision left to the community admin.
The default UI is voting mode — so if you're an admin and you want to enable zaps for your community on Satellite, just select the checkbox for "zaps" under Admin Settings > Voting Configuration.

Could be a big deal
Thanks! You know I’d love to make a native app but currently bottlenecked by dev resources (me) haha
I will more likely than not make a native app at some point, but in the meantime I’m keeping my eye on this “nostr browser” thing that nostr:npub1xdtducdnjerex88gkg2qk2atsdlqsyxqaag4h05jmcpyspqt30wscmntxy has been working on. Since Satellite already has a mobile web UX, it would be great to be able to run it on mobile without needing extensions and stuff, and maybe even get proper notifications
I agree with you that centralized AI filtering is dystopian as hell - unfortunately that’ll probably become reality for a lot of people who don’t find an off ramp. I reckon the options are to either go live in the woods, or you can try to fight fire with fire. I see nostr as a relatively defensible bastion of decentralized (which is to say human) intelligence… that’s why I’m here haha
I want my own AI that I control to surface content according to what I tell the AI I’m looking for. Like a proactive search agent.
Oh can you send those notes to me? I would love to read them!
n/Boston?
