Many people believe Nostr needs some new feeds.
Here is one: wss://feeds.nostr.band/popular - all notes with 10+ interactions.
Or another: wss://feeds.nostr.band/meme - some memes, as you might expect (curated by nostr:npub10awzknjg5r5lajnr53438ndcyjylgqsrnrtq5grs495v42qc6awsj45ys7 ).
Add a feed URL to your relay list. Then, if your app allows that (Damus), you can go to Global, switch off other relays, and enjoy the nice filtered feed.
There are also feeds with pictures, video or audio.
And you know what?
You can create your own curated feed, and let others subscribe to it!
It's built around labels, NIP-32. You add some labels to some notes, and our custom relay will then serve the notes you've curated.

There are many approaches to curation, algorithms and filtering. Hopefully, this new tool could help Nostr become more engaging, welcoming, diverse and safe.
I just had a look at it, and I think this actually a good use-case for curated feeds, as described in the note below.

You can pay for your contact lenses on contactlenses.co.uk (without prescription!) using #bitcoin, and they offer a 5% discount!
However, the UX on their website is poor. The integration with BitPay is terrible. The QR code shown in the screenshot doesn't lead to a Lightning invoice, but rather to a URL. To proceed with the payment, you have to open the page in your browser, select a wallet, and then you'll finally be presented with the Lightning invoice.
I plan to write to their support team to provide some constructive feedback.
Since most #nostr clients imitate Twitter (and I don't mean that in a negative sense), they have limited themselves to replies and quotes only.
But what about adding the possibility of creating, merging branches of notes etc?
This actually mirrors the process of knowledge creation, we could then leverage nostr to create a decentralised Wikipedia, no?

Stop me if you’ve heard this one: Taxation is not theft. It’s just the law of the land. You want to live in this country, you pay the long-established, constitutional, customary tax. If you’re not okay with that, there are plenty of other countries to choose from whose customs and edicts you may find more agreeable. Just go live there, and best of luck to you! So as long as you have that right of exit, the taxes confiscated from your income do not represent any initiation of force, coercion, or violation whatsoever.
