I was in a same situation. I love the book.

From what I understand, it all started with the tragic death of a 17yo boy who allegedly failed to comply with the police while driving a car (Mercedes) recklessly.

There is an ongoing investigation of the circumstances of his death.

The boy was French, of Algerian origin. The riots are taking place in the "banlieues," the suburbs of Paris where many immigrants reside. Record numbers of property destroyed etc.

It's simple, France is paying the price of decade-long misguided immigration policies.

We just had one of the most unusual encounters. On our way to my little one's football training, we met this man, a born again Christian, who asked to pray for us. Here we are, standing on the sidewalk and praying the Lord (we're not practicing Christians), people passing us by, as if this was the most natural thing in the world... 😇
