How you know nostr will win: you feel better being here.

I am sure some can relay when I say that quitting other social media has made me feel happier day to day. I don't know if it's the authentic interactions, or the lack of algo, or both, but nostr is the happy place.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely check it out. This book is often misunderstood and taken out of context by people with less-than-good intentions. I hate when this happens to science because it can stagnate research in that particular area.

Yesterday, I had a friendly discussion with one of my friends who studies evolutionary biology, discussion was around human intelligence. In just the first few minutes, I started realizing my ignorance on this topic.

He suggested many books, and one of them was 'The Bell Curve.' So far, I have only read the first few chapters, and it has already changed my entire understanding of human intelligence.

Sensitive topics would just be bought?

How does one know which version is more accurate?

I go on X (Twitter) to make the case to fence-sitting normies, and I try in my way to talk to some IRL as I did in LA this past week.

But I am increasingly getting sick of it. At this point, if people don’t realize what’s going on, they don’t want to realize, and they’ll have to figure it out on their own time.

I don’t know. I go back and forth on the value of persuasion and the peace of mind on leaving the old world behind and building something new.

I think ultimately since the old regime won’t leave you alone voluntarily, you want to persuade others to abandon it, so the transition to the future can transpire as non-violently as possible.

IOW, if everyone is persuaded to abandon the powers that be of the past (call them “the powers that were”), then there’s no fight. The fight is for the hearts and minds, and the transition is smooth.

On the other hand, if you start something new, but the powers that were have too much support, they will try to destroy any challenge with violence. Hence the need for persuasion.

But maybe nostr and bitcoin are enough. Maybe *trying* to persuade is only making people dig in and having the opposite of the intended effect.

Think I just worked through my own dilemma. Don’t *try*, just say something if it occurs to you on traditional social media or IRL. If people get it, they get it. If they don’t, they don’t. No need for frustration. Keep sowing seeds, and let the soil do the rest.
