I like the idea of no state but china would not have advanced like this without one.
The state apparatus is a powerful thing, whether you believe it's right or wrong.
Small self governing communities don't build mega cities and high-speed rail.
They mostly just raise livestock, grow vegetables, make craft to trade etc.

Quick update from Germany, I've been working in the fiat mines from this land for 2 years and let me tell you, most of the negative stuff you hear is compensated by 30 days of vacation on average.
Germans flee their land on winter and get their freak on all over the planet. The german turist meme is real, they wake up early and put a towel on their beach chair at 5am (effectively reserving it for the rest of the day).
30 vacation days means a month and a half if you add the weekends, no wonder they are constantly recharged and efficient.
German wages are super high compared to almost any other land (except Switzerland, the USA and the UAE), so they live like kings abroad (and I repeat, they get their freak on). Having time and money is what makes you rich, anything else is just Tul1ps.
