What Youtube alternatives do you use? Until now this is the last google service I could not live without. But with starting age control I am really strongly willing to turn my back on youtube (hopefully for ever)

First thanks a lot for the great tipps.

Second can the idea of arweave really work. Giving one time payments to ensure permanent storage? I mean a longer video has very fast houndreds of MB of data. Who would store this permanently and profitable permanently for a fixed onetime price?

How could this work even in theory?

This is a tough one for me... Partly because, at least on my smart TV, the algorithm is genuinely pretty good at surfacing the content I want to see at that moment. (Mobile app, desktop, not so much...)

Defnitly a hard one. Since over such a long time a huge amount of high quality content creator like TEDx, Veritassium and many more fed the Network of youtube so consitantly. And it is such a superpower almost no professional video creator will not upload to youtube.

With this given it is very hard a real competitor could come up. But I have faight that through integrating youtube or something like it a plattform could get popular fast while delivering everything youtube got.

Grayjay. Odysee. Newpipe. Freetube.

But most of all - PeerTube

heads-up: we looked for a lightning address on your profile but could not find one... u can get a free one at https://rizful.com ... and then reply back to this comment so we can zap you.

It's the last wall for me too. For now I use Freetube, but it has its limitations and errors. Google tries everything to make it difficult to get out of the system. I hope there are content alternatives coming soon.

watch them all without joining. Make a "polycentric" account and that lets you subscribe to the channel without having to join the respective platforms
