Sam Altman had a good point in his interview with Lex Fridman. You have to actually build the innovation and see what the problems actually are before trying to solve them. We can’t solve all our future problems before we know what they are.
AI projects need to be allowed, and transparent.
Hope to see more open source models after appeals to the government like that!
They're just trying to use the state to hamstring OpenAI rather than outcompete them.
The future is a handful of normal people surrounded by hysterical crazy people & psychopaths…
Realistically, this is likely to be signalling to raise awareness. The only way to pause this is to spook the lawmakers. But their ban hammer is heavy & I’m not sure it makes sense to stop when other major powers act independently…
