Gary seems like a good dude, and these prices are fair.

I say this having

- built 4 heltec v3 nodes

- designed a custom add-on battery case for the stock heltec v3 case

- built out 4 Tdecks, and

- am working on a custom solar node that has features I can't find in any existing build

If you are on the American East coast and want something turnkey, go to Gary. Heck, even if you're in the midwest. There's not a lot of sellers of ready to go gear. Most people will have to add a battery, print a case, and will want to upgrade the stock antenna.

Best place to start for a beginner to learn more about meshtastic from a bitcoiners perspective? Have you done any pods on these things?

Thanks!

HRCC is great resource for most radio things. This is one of his shorter videos on meshtastic. Otherwise https://meshtastic.org is a good start too

Do you think if I got 4-5 people from our meetup group it would be enough to start a little network around here (assume we all live in a like 20 mile radius in Western Massachusetts)?

It's line of site and 20mi is definitely doable. Depends on terrain though. Worth a shot. And you may already have other nodes in your area.

So, in a valley at the base of the blue ridge, probably a no go without some outlandish antenna mount? I guess if someone was at the top of the mountain it would work? Is there a map showing networks around the US anywhere? Sorry if this is easily available somewhere, I lazily searched for at least 2 mins.

I don't have mineode yet, but it did just ship, and I've been doing a lot of reading and video watching about it so far.

Sir, you do not?
