I get that Internet was primarily built for porn (😂) and that porn, at least earlier in the beginning, was a big part of the Internet. I've been on Internet since the early days.

Though do I think that one of the most popular Nostr sites, Primal, should promote this many adult content creators to new people? There is so many adult accounts listed on #Primal that I'm sure it will throw some people off the idea of using Nostr for their social media.

Catholic listed right above Porn is probably so that you can confess after visiting the latter?

I'm not for censorship, but it's about what content we promote as builders and service providers, what we want our users to consume, or not.

The worst and the best of humanity exists on Internet, it's the collective aggregation of everyone, our ambitions, our ideas, our creations, our hate, our love. Content forms us, it guides us, drives us.

Into what directions do we as builders on Nostr, take our friends, family and strangers?

I’ve muted “nsfw” and to be honest I haven’t seen anything dodgy on my timeline since. Give the controls back to the users and let them curate their own feed 👍

Agree ultimate that's the important point do I have the control on my feed.

It is a form of self-curating their experience, if someone opens and app & immediately thinks "ew, no" then never returns.

The irony is I can’t see my own post as it’s filtered out 😆

Self censored lol

To me the bigger question is whether one needs to be age verified to browse adult accounts.

Haha, yes it will be funny the day governments contacts Nostr client developers to add age-verification 😂

Well not really gov related rather a concern for underaged using Nostr.

There must be a way to make sure only filtered content reaches underaged users.

Depends on the positioning. There could be a place for all: some platforms might filter certain content (Catholic Nostr), some might filter the other (Queer Nostr). Market will decide. Yet I believe the best platform lets the user decide what he doesn't want to see

For sure, my feedback is simply based upon the profiles that Primal suggests for brand new users. Nostria has some Starter Packs in the People/Discover section that includes nudity (photographers, models), this list is not curated by Nostria.
