Hrmmm....

"Every wargame that we conducted back in the intelligence community ended up in a nuclear war.

There was an escalation ladder. And the Russians have mapped that out in the course of twenty

years, and we are on it right now." -Rebekah Koffler, military intelligence analyst,

Can't they play out a wargame scenario that doesn't end in a nuclear war? What is wrong with them?

They are probably just trying to jawbone Russia onto a different path than the current one.

I'm not aware of this, but Putin has drawn many red lines that should not be crossed and always threatens with the same sentence, NATO doesn't want war on its territory… It's probably a bluff

Bluffs are played by normal people .. normal people don't invade countries !

The current rulers aren't normal people then

No they are not. We left them too much time and they developed a godlike posture

This is literally how countries are formed. Ukraine is made up of lands that never belonged to Ukrainians.

I dont know the history of this part well enough to comment which land belongs to whom ..but my point was :

**never assume how a leader of a poerful people may react .. their compulsions (good or bad) are hard to predict for "normal" people ! .. Thus risk is super high **

countries are formed from the lands of neighboring states, and Ukraine is no exception. Literally half of the countries in Europe have illegally annexed something from each other.

The cost-benefit analysis of a strategic nuclear strike is: cost=everything, benefit=revenge? It's a horrible decision that nobody would make. But the cost-benefit analysis of Russia using a hypersonic IRBM to attack a Ukrainian military target is: cost=(a missile, probably provoking a further escalation that will undoubtedly be calculated to cost more than the benefit), benefit=(maybe it will cause the other side to think twice instead of escalate, destroys an enemy missile factory). Still the wrong decision to escalate, but it is not as dumb as the nuclear strike.

Of course they can, but the idea is to use what you know of the other side's decision-makers, culture and situation.

I expect if Putin were somehow gullible enough to sign a Minsk 3, HE'D have a nonzero risk of being found underneath a high window one morning. In that situation, its predictable that he (and his subordinates) would prefer to err in the other direction...

Minsk 3. Yeah, that will never happen.

Was it Obama who recognized that Russia's strategic interest in Ukraine will always surpass America's? Did that change with resources found in the Donbass and shell/chevron/rosemont-seneca/burisma/state-street/blackrock? Is the strategic interest at such parity that neither side will back down from this game of chicken?

I'm pretty sure humanity will be massively wiped out by some disaster or another. We grew far too fast and our technology has advanced super fast too. We are living in a very aberrant state without any long-term proof of stability/survivability.

I fear there are multiple games of chicken being played concurrently, and we the public don't know half the players.

The issue is that they consider this a game and people some sort of virtual pieces on a chessboard. We should probably remind them we are real people and they can die too

I don't think nearly enough people are paying attention to this. I hope Putin sees that it is the globalists' intention to destroy countries with free societies and promote conservative values. The longer he can hold off major retaliation, the more likely we are to preventing WW3. Trump will be in office soon, and hopefully the larger, world threat will be over.

i don't know why people assume the government shares any interests with them.

in Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove at the end the world is destroyed but nothing much changes for the elites - and that is generally the case in reality unless you are defeated by the Jews - in which case they rape you to death.

the average person is too pathetic to face the fact that nobody cares about them - not their parents, not their spouse, and least of all their government.

the absolute COPE that the reason everything always gets worse is because government is stupid. no they just DON'T CARE.

their perspective is - so there is a nuclear war - so what ? how would that impact my status ?
