Yes that would probably do the trick, but if you get unlucky and itreallyy gets in a fire or contacts with something bad you'll be happy to have spent the couple cents more on stainless steel

Indeed and the possibilities to hide keys or seeds is virtually unlimited. You could even embed a key into a painting and nobody would ever know. Or tattoo it under your foreskin I guess. So yeah, millions of ways to go about this.
