I hate email as a technology.
It feels private and it is not private. It’s like putting a sign up on a tree outside someone’s house.
It’s also spammy as hell, difficult to self host, riddled with terminal vulnerabilities it’s just hot garbage.

Well... Every thing is need energy and cost. We get email from provider like Gmail, Yahoo, Window every company paid a lot of money to server and hosting domain. So... If we want to build our own email, it's take a lot of money and time.
Now we have #nostr and we can send message with encrypted messaging. But... It's can be like an Email? 🤔
We are free to use it but I believe something will be happening... 🪬
nostr is designed to be transparent and to store things in many places that are very difficult to control.
This is almost the opposite of what email is designed for.
nostr isn’t point to point private messages.
nostr is for saying stuff in public.

I've been using email since they rolled it out in K12. What used to be an exciting messaging tool is now 95% marketing spam and transactional receipts.
Real communication has migrated.
I will say Hey.com is quite the delight, the rest is all noise.
Marty uses email for newsletters. He could easily keep doing that and not use Nostr. Nostr is great but the fact remains that it is extremely small & there has not been a lot of growth.
He could…until he can’t. We’re building for the latter.
And maybe it will work but if Parker thinks Nostr is a distraction from bitcoin then that's fine. The two might have similar goals but they are not the same & if he wants to focus on bitcoin & ignore Nostr (as does John Carvalho I believe) then I say good for him 👍
