Saw a patient today who is a veteran. He had a small cavity that was bothering him, but it was going to take 5 months to get it treated at the VA so he came to see me and paid out of pocket. Took 20 mins. I felt outraged by the wait at the VA and when I expressed this to the patient he said, “Honey that’s just the system. Nothing anyone can do about it.”

Do you think most people feel this way and if so, why? I hate that people accept things like this.

This is 100% accurate

As a veteran myself, we tend to just accept this type of treatment. It’s lackluster and the care is just not there! Thanks for helping out a fellow vet! We appreciate people like you🫡⚡️

It infuriates me to see the treatment of vets. Fight for your country and then you need to fight again for services you are owed. It’s not right.

Same here, I pay a lot of taxes and would much prefer they go to healthcare for vets rather than bailouts for VCs in silicon valley who are too stupid to mange their cash properly

There’s a women who runs a charity called “Code of Vets”. She helps homeless vets meet basic needs who aren’t being helped by the system. She posts “missions” on Twitter for individuals that need help and what they need.

My childhood doctor was a veteran and instead of retiring when he should’ve, went to work at the VA hospital.

Why constantly say “support our troops” when we aren’t doing that at all

For sure. So many people have developed a “just take it” mentality because they feel powerless to their situation. In his defense more of the same has been rebranded and repackaged for millennia then spoon fed to us via MSM. I was totally in his boat until I started down the btc rabbithole.

Just a reminder to be grateful and remain humble, as bitcoiners we still have so much work to do.

yes and yes

very hard to change things about a debased, corrupt bureaucratic system stuck in a death spiral

and at some point you have to make choices.. keep fighting against the things you continuously run against.. or find a roundabout way to get desired outcomes

It’s frustrating 😞

curious about thoughts on crowdhealth. sounds like an intriguing possible solution 🤔

I think if you are relatively healthy and are organized with receipts & documentation, it’s fantastic. We used a similar plan called Liberty Healthshare for a couple of years at our office. I thought it was great, but several of our employees hated it because of the submission process for reimbursement.

fascinating… appreciate the insight! 🤙

The VA is a hole. When you’re a government liability they’re literally trying to remove you from the ledger.

I believe it’s a hole by design. My husband and I have tried to get on as volunteers at the VA dental clinic in Atlanta for years. Applied to volunteer every Friday. We have never been disciplined by the dental board or had a complaint, and we have our own malpractice insurance. We can’t get more than an automated response to our applications. It’s disgusting.

Did the automatic reply say “thanks for contacting the government, we’re here to help”

Basically.

Sounds spot on. And you’re core it is absolutely by design.

It would benefit veterans greatly if the could AT LEAST claim out of network partial reimbursement.

The system isn't designed to care. 😕

It’s shocking to me that it’s not even a possibility.

That is the point of the system: to break the spirit of the individual. Broken healthcare, education system aka obedience training, 9-5 meaningless jobs, inflation, taxation etc are all meant to break our spirit. A majority just accept that this is how it is. And that is why I bitcoin: to break the system and free the individual

Me too, but I do find myself getting increasingly frustrated and even angry about things like this.

Same. I wish i could help them realize that the system is taking advantage of us. Nevertheless, we must not be disheartened. We must stand in the gap for those who have already given up.

Spot on 🎯 Earned you a follow 🫂

Tiniest tip of the iceberg Susie. And we can’t stop the flood of USD that evaporates into that stream. It could be the worst part of the welfare state, b/c so many people know how to exploit it so easily and without audit.

https://www.joincrowdhealth.com/ fixes this… although they only cover dental exams, including cleaning and X-rays… for now!

I believe this is solid evidence that single payer healthcare won’t work in the US because we know our bureaucracy is shit at executing.

If only the fed and department of treasury could recognize the same but they are determined to drive us off a cliff.

Yes. It's bad. . I snapped a crown at gum level last week. 😞

Military dental hygiene is notoriously insufficient

Could they not use community care and be covered if the wait time is so long?

There are 5 community clinics in our area. One is not even taking new patients and the others requires you to be at or below 125% of the federal poverty level ti qualify as a patient and if you do it is still a long and lengthy application process to be accepted as a patient.

Ist is the fucking System that went wrong. There is so much Money in the World but the wrong Peoples hold it in their Arms. Will Bitcoin fixes this?

Community care is really just paperwork through the VA when either their wait times are too long or you need a specialist. So you go see someone in the community but the VA still covers it.

Oh hmm, I did not know this. Thx! We have treated hundreds of vets over our career and not once have I ever had one mention it to me.

My Dad used it when he had to have an urgent neurosurgery last fall. He’s had pretty good luck with the VA. I will say I’ve met a lot of veterans who seem unaware of many of the benefits for which they qualify.

This is learned helplessness. It's what you have to do when you give up. Most have no hope. Luckily we have Bitcoin and hope for a better future at least.

I'm that way.

There's always a cost to using govt provided services & the benefit is often not there. I just accept that the system is shit & go around it.

Writing nasty letters solves nothing.
