Not even that, just a direct connect to my node via lightning and rune-authenticated rpc’s via custom lightning messages

nope. pure CLN jsonrpc calls over lightning. Works great 😁

when i tried using lnlink the script from lnlink.app put out hostname as an onion address, should I have something else enabled? i guess because my node is not accessible from clearnet?

Yeah its a clearnet only thing. I built it for speed in mind and tor is slow af
