Anyone have recommendations for screen and voice recording software on Ubuntu? I need to record my screen and walk through a tutorial. My mic is connected through a rodecaster sound board.

Thankful if anyone has had experience with this and could save me some time!

For screen recording the screenshot app that comes with Ubuntu is descent. It takes screenshots and records your screen.

For all the stuff I do on Linux I use a combo of SimpleScreenRecorder and OBS

I second this for video

kazam or obs-studio

i think you can just use OBS.

Was going to say this.

Audacity is what i use for audio

I don't know much about Ubuntu... been meaning to try cap.so bc it's OSS, wonder if that may work? nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8 is more technically inclinded than I am

thought it would be an interesting thread to follow

What’s the camera you use for your videos?

Which Ubuntu version?

Some considerations, for audio use pipewire. And if possible x11, Wayland it's evolving but had some flaws.

Just use OBS.

Obs!

Obs is best

OBS is pretty much the gold standard.

OBS worked for me in the past.
