What happened?

I don't know. It started doing this after Ditto eresed parts of my profile, but I don't know if that's related. I did add a new profile to Amber and Amethyst after that fiasco, but have since removed it to see if the interface will work again, but that didn't do it.

Clearing cache didn't fix it either.

No, it's random. Some times they're there, sometimes not.

Could be a service or internet issue.

Other clients are fine. Nostrudel has been my replacement, even though it's on different hardware. Primal loads names and pfps perfectly on my phone.
