Verified account NIP05 is meaningless. I want to know if I have checked who this person is, not that he has paid a website to be called jack. The only real verified are those you decide to follow.

My only concern with nip05 is that it’s a bit exclusionary, it requires some technical expertise to setup. Hopefully that will get better over time though.
If you know the domain, yes. But how do you know the domain is spelled correctly? Do you really check every time? Tons of verified fakes right now.
Yeah. This is why I don’t get the paid verification services popping up. The only way this is valuable is if you verify on your own domain.
I’m interested in tying NIP-05 verification for a domain to publish abilities on a relay (already supported by nostr-rs-relay). As the spammers arrive, this will help curb that issue among others.

Proof of ID comes from multiple places. Historical context with a Twitter username is one of those places. If people were used to see each person's website all the time, the current NIP-05 would also be useful. A lot of our trust is derived from social validation (followings).
The domain part is more important than the local part.
