It makes perfect sense. As soon as 1 USD = 100 Satoshis, just lock the value to Bitcoin and we're done. Eventually everyone is going to get rid of their old fiat currency anyway.

Why not? The government could offer USD backed by a basket of things including bitcoin and offer users all the legal muscle of the US, for a currency that is less volatile than bitcoin and other cryptos. Bitcoin will always be superior but I don’t think a slowly inflating USD is bad for a transition period, given global markets, how few people have adopted bitcoin today.

Shitcoins were always going to exist, especially the dollar. I've heard every shitcoin say they were "backed" by bitcoin and they all end the same way getting wrecked. Very few people actually learn from their mistakes.
