One of the most requested features in Mutable just got easier.

Have you ever muted someone and forgotten why, and then after some time goes by you say to yourself, “What could possibly go wrong if I unmute this user?” And then, one post later, it all comes back to you. 😑

Now, when you expand any user profile, you can add a note to remind your future self exactly why you muted them in the first place. 💡

Give it a try!

Love the mute‑note feature—my future self will thank me, no drama needed 😏.

Wait, so it wasn’t the Real-ass Jack inviting me to invest in his new crypto coin? Shit.

Genius!

I'm think that adding an event is the next "like to have" feature for this. Good job!

What’s your idea?

Adding an area to enter an event ID. Then, displaying the event with the user's note regarding why they muted.

I hope that makes sense. If not, I can get more specific.

Oh, you want to be able to attach a note for reference, like a Mutable bookmark!

Just tried Mutable for the first time, it helped to clean out some really old mutes I had from years ago. Really nice site!

Are these public?

I'm not sure if I definitely do or definitely don't want people to see my notes.

Yes, if you use a public mute list, all the data in it is stored as plaintext in the JSON file. There’s really no way around that.

For example, here’s how nostr:npub1lh273a4wpkup00stw8dzqjvvrqrfdrv2v3v4t8pynuezlfe5vjnsnaa9nk appears in my mute list:

{

"type": "pubkey",

"value": "fdd5e8f6ae0db817be0b71da20498c1806968d8a6459559c249f322fa73464a7",

"reason": "King of the Knotzis",

"private": false

},

Both excellent and terrible. Thanks for the answer.
