Hmm I use ditto. Has lots of quirks but it’s still great. I have to assume I’ve not truly dug into functionality. Thankyou, will play around

We don't have marketplace or events *yet* but I'd love to tell you more about Ditto if you have a specific community of people you want to move here!

The main community function is the self-service NIP-05 username feature, which allows people to all get a username on the same domain (ex. user@mybtccommunity.com)

Then Ditto displays a local feed of everyone from that community to encourage interaction with each other while also allowing them to connect to the boarder nostr network.

👀 thanks. I’ll take a look. Am just putting a group together. Need to onboard to nostr first and actually see if I can round everybody up but that sounds cool and will ping you if I need any help

Ok just did a couple impromptu meetings to see if people interested in helping out. Am going to set up a group and have to do lots of onboarding and explaining. Basically we have a very large and not well known bitcoin community that really needs to be knitted together. I’ll reach out when I think we are ready. A little geographically dispersed and we prefer doing things in person so may take a week or two. Costa Rica is a little challenging at times! Thanks for this

Okay, sounds good! If you want to meet with us to figure out the best way to use Ditto for your community we're happy to help you get it started! @ me any time 😁

Do y’all have a non-technical video guide for “how to onboard my community to nostr in 21 clicks”

From the new user's perspective, or from the perspective of the Ditto community self-hoster?

Either way, not yet, but I could make one showing how new users sign up once your site is launched! However being a Ditto community self-hoster at this stage does require some technical skill, so I don't recommend it right now if the community don't have anyone techy to help out. By the end of next quarter we aim to drastically reduce the technical barrier to entry for self hosting!

I also recommend testing out creating a new account at https://ditto.pub to try it and see how easy it is to create a new account once the server is up!

Very interesting about making it easier to setup a new instance or community

That's the end goal, for Ditto to be the easiest way to self-host your own Nostr experience for you and your community. Ditto.pub is just the prototype.

Well in that case, would it help to have a grounds up test community? There’s some seriously techie people here I could drag in I reckon. Just need to motivate. Might help you identify friction points

Yes! Absolutely! Do you want to plan a time to chat?

And if you want to start poking around in the meantime... Here's the docs 😁

Got someone who knows how to use a keyboard looking through everything you’ve got out there. I’ll ping you after we get a meet organised here and I get everyone on same vision (fuck me that’s a pompous sounding word…. Page?)

You guys will be light years ahead of mastodon for non techies , if this goes well 🙏🏼

I ask from the perspective of the community organizer(s) - domains + nip-05, relay, invite system etc

Following, there is a opportunity to do some onboarding for a conference coming up.
