If you really wanna go cheap with blue wallet If you use vault wallet option you can use an old phone For almost like a hardware wallet. All you will do is set up For airgap transactions with that old phone BTC sessions has a little clip on that. But I'm not sure exactly which video it is.

Hard to say a number. But, I would say once you start feeling uncomfortable, that's the moment you invest in one.

Amount doesn’t matter. Should always get a cold wallet IMO. I find it a good exercise of true ownership that teaches responsibility like no other way. It makes you appreciate what have.
