I mean.. if you want to make money, just teach people how to X. This has been a tried and true method for ages. If I were a film maker, I would not try to make money on my films, rather teach other starter film makers how to make films. It would be a side gig, but it would generate far more revenue than trying to monetize a social network. Just my 2 sats.

I'm sure Joe means well. That note does come off a bit as "hey, I'm not making any money on this brand new social network that even the devs are not making money on" but he probably doesn't mean it that way.
