Found Nostr a couple of months ago. Built an almost usable client (which I may or may not publish) to learn and honestly had so much fun writing it (all my old notes are from testing the client 😁)

It was the first time I was able to dedicate time to a side project because I felt it's something that aligns with my values personally

Then read somewhere here that the focus should be on building mini/micro apps that integrate well together so going to look into this. Welcome any ideas to give me a head start

Hi masterofnone, and welcome to #nostr! πŸ€“

βœ… Great, you've already set up your #lightning address! I just ⚑️zapped you some #welcomesats 😊

I can also help people check their #nostr address is working (if they have one). Nostr addresses are not mandatory, but some people like using them to add a personal touch to their profile. Once you've set it up, just post a note including #checkmyaddy and I'll check it again for you. If you like, I can give you one for free at "yourname@minestr.app". Just get in touch! 😊

GM. Welcome to Nostr. They desperately need help adding a volume button on Wavlake! LOL

Welcome! How about a micro client that unfollows dormant npubs from your follow list? Eg, unfollow anyone who hasn’t posted in 3, 6, 9, or12 months?

Working on it 🫑

but why

Because I don’t want to unnecessarily query relays for profiles and notes from users who I’ve followed but have fallen off

Awesome work.

What about copying other platforms into nostr like redit, ebay, Craig's list, iot controller,

Loyalty card platform, event tickets, crowdsourcing...

Welcome! Look forward to your work

Ok i got one,

Betting

It would be cool if you could present a bet as a nostr note,

similar to polls and invoices.

You still have the oracle problem but with nostr you could nominate a third party or group of npubs who state the outcome (or even vote on the truth) perhaps some fedimints could provide this service?

Alternatively you could connect it to poly market backend perhaps but nostr native would be better.

Initial event could be an offer which could be accepted (or counter offer made)

Then optionally, it would be cool if additional participants could join in, either duplicating the bet or merging with one side... Which would require an equal addition to the other side.

Could be cool
