A chat app which needs an open Bluetooth connection sounds creepy. Bluetooth is a weak point of a phone which should be turned off.

I refuse to use bluetooth for anything.
Considering the attack on google keeping the drivers of pixels closed and now not releasing them for custom ROMs maybe it's time to reverse engineer all android firmwares.
