Thanks for asking, fren. As for the Crusades, never judge a leader by his most extreme followers, but by his own actions. Jesus did not evangelize at the end of a sword, but put himself in the place of his enemies dying for their salvation.
And oh, how he shines... By him not only can we see God, but he is like the sun by which we can see all other things. He is the precondition for all intelligibility and morality. For "by him all things were created." So, if I may respectfully proffer an example, he is the only reason you can string words together into coherent sentences to reject him here. Because you have been created in the image of the God who speaks.
