I'm starting to realize we will probably need seperate webs of trust for people we follow vs people we interact with in meatspace

More circles, yes please.

And the compounded when sometimes people in one circle slowly becomes part of another, like an acquaintance becoming a best friend of a break up.

So it can't be a web we manually maintain, that just falls apart pretty quickly

* the problem is compounded

Naturally 🤙

I prefer user defined 'connections' with organically adopted consensus over a few commonly used to calculate WOT. i.e. 'this x NPUB marks y NPUB as 'restraining order' approximates an objective, useful measurement while not compromising freedom to 'follow' someone without implying trust.

One per persona.

Yeah, follow doesn't necessarily mean friend. Also doesn't mean trusted automatically.

I could imagine an added level of trust which provides a form of vouching for someone's character.

That could be a new nip, or maybe just a seperate npub. Time will tell.

Trust can be objectively derived and measured from credit relationships.

Agreed, but I am having a hard time imagining how this could be measured without a loss of privacy

It is privacy maximised, built on Nostr and encrypted so only the parties involved can find and, if found, read.

In incognito mode (a bearer ebill) only the payer's business name is known, every other party (payee and subsequent endorsees) can be anon if desired, needs just an npub to control the ebill.
