the amount of subscriptions iβve accidentally paid, bc i forgor to cancelβ¦
still, ongoing maintenance fees are gonna outrun your upfront payment on a longer time span = bad business
My daughter's favorite game has one. I'd gladly pay $20 for the content that's in it, instead it's $8/m

without subscriptions we can stop #nostr now, it's not gonna work ... and i'm not only talking about running relays, i'm mainly talking about building stuff ... those are devs, not slaves. they need a monthly income
Not having monthly subscriptions wonβt stop any growth what so ever if bounties and grants are still a thing.. as well as individuals like yourself zapping devs whenever they drop an update thatβs valuable to them. Iβd say we need to make that more of the norm, not look to make users add on new subscriptions to the ones they already pay. I agree they arenβt slaves n neither should they be wage slaves with monthly income. Why not find a solution to pay off their entire year of work, so they can focus solely on this.. most are not focused entirely on nostr, most still have their own day jobs/businesses. this needs to be discussed n talked about more bc subscriptions just isnβt it.
i'm not a fan of subscriptions too, but it's gonna be difficult without them
