ladies: what are your thoughts about chivalry? is it something you commonly see? how do you feel when you observe a gentleman embodying chivalry?

would you feel comfortable with your guy extending it to other women? or do you prefer it exclusively for you?

personally i'll take kindness and courtesy over chivalry.

i'd like to see my guy showing these attributes to everyone, as i hope to do myself πŸ’œ

interesting.

do you view acts of chivalry as largely performative?

i would consider them as kindness and courtesy, so i'm curious to understand your perspective.

thanks for answering, btw ^.^

it's more of an equality thing for me, i'd like to see more courtesy and kindness regardless of the gender of the recipient.

imo, i shouldn't be entitled to that just because of the way i was born 😹

yeah, i try to answer these, especially since there weren't any other replies yet πŸ’œ

ah, that makes sense. i can see the differences in our perspectives. :3

though, i will say, chivalry doesn't mean you should feel entitled to anyone's courtesy.

thanks again~! ^^

Common courtesy should just be common I mean when did that stop? Oh I remember something he told me always leave with the girl you brought the dance to something. His father had said and I was like OK weirdo whatever

chivalry is like a layer on top of common courtesy.

- walking a woman to her car

- offering to carry something for her

- standing up, introducing her first

- offering jacket

- not standing by if a woman is being harassed

- etc etc

If he only did it for me, it wouldn't be chivalry, it would be foreplay.

I find a lack of chivalry off-putting.

agreed.

yet i get side-eyed often by other men when "extending" basic chivalry to other women.

Other men are retarded.

lolololol

yep

I’m not even gonna respond to this this time because you know what my response was last time and it’s still true 🀣🀣🀣

this is very interesting topic. how should I phrase it?

hhhmmnm. I guess I am fortunate enough to be often at the receiving end of it. I am grateful for it. But I'd never expect it. The less I expect it the more often I receive it.

As for what I think of it. It is always a bliss to see kindness and bravery. But as a woman esp when travelling alone, I always have it at the back of my mind the "intent". Whether someone has a hidden agenda or pure kindness. As for my partner, it is basic traits of him. Therefore my man naturally kind towards others. I trust him enough to know that he is being kind vs being flirtatious.

But then again I am speaking from experience. ☺️

great take, and valuable insight~!

the words and actions may line up, but when the intention and energy behind them aren't pure, they lose integrity and cease to be chivalrous.

thanks for sharing, Lady Mae~! :3

ladies: what are your thoughts about chivalry? It’s just always been normal for me to see & experience.

is it something you commonly see? Yes.

how do you feel when you observe a gentleman embodying chivalry?

Depends on my intuition

would you feel comfortable with your guy extending it to other women?

Yes. After trust is established long-term. Saying this as it can sometimes be misinterpreted. From everyone.

or do you prefer it exclusively for you?

No.
