Not rendering on Damus for me
it doesn't work on astral 
ill just go back to posting gifs from tenor and my own images from imgur. that works just fine.

Apache? Make sure you server is sending an access contol origin headder and origin is set to "*". I had that problem using a self hosted profile pic.

should be something like this in your config and of course the Headers Mod should be enabled.
Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*"

It’s so weird, intermittently doesn’t work for some people and on astral, pretty sure it is DNS but I’m getting frustrated….
