How bad is it that nostr has no deniability? What would nostr with deniability look like?
Discussion
Will has been tossing this idea around for a while, too.
1. Anyone can spread your note anywhere they want without any kind of authentication
2. Every note is proven to be from you
The fact that both of these are true is sort of a nightmare tbh. It’s why I am hoping that private notes (like locked twitter accounts) will become the commonplace. I don’t think the above scenario is compatible with normie usage.
Yeah, it's a two-edged sword for sure
Unsigned messages wrapped in an event signed by a key shared by all group participants.
Oh, I... built that
Thanks. I appreciate the work you are doing in the private communities space. Thanks for pushing it forward.
An idea for deniable public broadcast messages is using a 1-of-n signature which doesn't reveal which key signed or require coordination. N would be the user's follow list at a point of time.
I'm not aware of a scheme that supports this. Even if one exists, I prefer the trusted relay model.
Scams n airdrops galore, except from keys you thought you trusted.. 😂
