They're all playing the fact the most end users have no idea how long and hard of a road it can be from v0.0.1 to v1.0.0. Takes months or years, and many never get to 1.0, or have to scrap the whole thing and start over with a new architecture or tech stack.
Focus on the people who know how to maintain a large codebase, while grinding out features without regression.
That's where the signal is.
The key here is:
WITHOUT REGRESSION
This is why I've gravitated towards developing out in the open. Nostr is growing quickly and has an appetite for new apps, and Nostriches are often more than happy to try out early versions of an app. So there's no need to develop in secret, usually. A solution, then, is to just be transparent about the whole process, and invite early adopters from the very beginning, making it clear that they're stepping into a construction zone.
And allowing them to give input to the design. The Nostriches are wise. 🧘♀️
Communities allow you to both curate AND monetize this process. From day one.
Interoperable communities even allow you to piggy back on other existing projects.
