nostr:npub1v7t4yx9vxtv3mat0hdsduuym4fvjd5dzmdlh82ssa40phr965h2s2lck6k however i did have that exact issue after purging the remote cache after i disabled it for the first time. in a few days time all the pfps got fixed thoughIt's been more than a few days time, at this point. More like a couple weeks. Users I follow all have PFPs now and everything, that's not an issue. But, now, it seems like users from remote instances that my instance has not yet "seen" or "crawled" or "interacted with", so to speak, won't render PFPs.

For example, your PFP and banner, et al., will load just fine. But, say, that you reposted something from a user you follow, but who my instance has never "seen" before. The content therein will appear in my feed without issue, since I'm following you, and because you shared it. However, that user's PFP and banner, etc., won't populate until I, or some local user on my instance, goes to that user's profile directly...in which case it will load, and, conversely, become cached by the instance.

It's almost as though my instance's "instance actor" account isn't doing anything (which, as far as I know, usually handles these sorts of things as a sort of "phantom user" that goes around "crawling" and caching accounts and instances this instance interacts or federated with).

nostr:npub1v7t4yx9vxtv3mat0hdsduuym4fvjd5dzmdlh82ssa40phr965h2s2lck6k I haven't asked nostr:npub1jpr9ymkz22yxvcrm2xx9zsfnyhhvsxqpnfs347n6f0mqwsmkmmls05jdqt about this, but maybe I should. She helped me hugely with managing remote /files/ by setting up a Python3 script to utilize the Misskey API and run a cronjob to query and delete content older than 3 weeks. I also learned a decent amount about API and Linux in general through that interaction.

Now trying to tag her via @ I also notice a lot of profiles that appear but still with missing PFPs. I wonder if there's not some CLI that can't retroactively go through to repopulate this missing content. I was under the impression that the instance would do this automatically, perhaps with via the Instance Actor account.
