Imagine my surprise to come on here and see a bunch of people linking this article I wrote haha

It’s true I was maybe a bit harsh in places, but I also think first impressions amount to a lot. But I am also intrigued enough to give this a shot nostr:note1t8xlq6jmqx4uhyjzuuxdja0wlvnu24vhgn4r8l7z4kxd9pym8kqsajm39w

Nah, you weren't too harsh. It was an enjoyable read too.

I wouldn't say harsh, a few misconceptions or misunderstandings, but all in all it was very accurate. Nostr is too technical still and a lot of work on UX needs to happen. If there are misunderstandings on how something works it may not be the user's fault.

It's great to gain perspective! Nostr is clunky and has room to grow. I'm sure that your feedback is welcome to everyone who read it. Glad to see you back on the network 🤗

there's no better honest experience than the naive one; takes more than two to write about it and an extra to do it so well as you did.

there can be so much to explore within nostr, specially doing it over destkop clients

Nostr welcomes you

It's a fair assessment of the current state of affairs here. And even as broken as it is, it's better than going back to censorship 🤙

There are some more normal people in Nostr that talk about more than BTC. Just takes some time to find them. Welcome, hopefully you stay! It’s a fun place.

It was interesting to see a outsiders perspective

Actually, you’re not a Normie but a 💻 GEEK!

A Normie does *NOT* code.

And I agree with you Bitcoin Bros (mostly Male) who ONLY post about Bitcoin are *BORING* AS HELL and they should get a fking life and DEVELOP other interests!!

Yes, more Nostr, less BTC / groupies

At last I got the time and I was able to finish reading your article and I lose the most faithful summary of what most users think when meeting and interacting for the first time in Nostr. That’s why most end up abandoning, however there is a lot of content to discover, I hope you continue to publish more often and discover more ways to use the protocol.

Sorry I meant to reply to this 10 hours ago haha but yeah, I wrote that article, and then I came back and saw my own account here in the trending accounts list which blew me away. So I decided to stick around. I can't say that I'm 100% sold yet (because the public key being basically an extractin point for anyone who wants to see what's in my notifications), but I feel there is a lot of worth based on versatility and content alone. Can Nostr expand into something that's millions of users strong? Hopefully
