One use case for the funding source is to allow you to run LNbits on a clearnet VPS and fund it from your home node without having to do any fancy NAT traversal, port forwarding or other things than can be a privacy leak.
Ok I didn't think about that but this is also a good use case!
You can connect your LNbits to any NWC-powered wallet and have access to all the amazing LNbits plugins. This enables a lot of awesome usecases!
