Oh. So confused on how it works. I was doing some research when I found out about NOSTR. So I searched for an app I can use to get connected to this world. And viola! Here we are.

Yeah, but currently on Damus you will leak metadata like who you are chatting with when using DMs. The messages themselves are private though.

It warns you when you receive a message that is not gift wrapped. This means you’ll leak metadata if you respond to it.

Direct messages, yes. How private those are is debatable lol ... I'm unfamiliar with damus but maybe a little envelope icon?
When you click on someone’s pfp, there’s a message button in Damus
Hey that's awesome! Welcome aboard... it is a bit confusing at first. You can search and follow hashtags. You can use them to get your notes some reach too. #asknostr is great for questions. Looking through other's profiles follow lists can help too.
