Finally watched the HBO doc. I always concluded the same. My evidence was, having been a teacher for 15 years pre-bitcoin, the tone of Hal Finney to Satoshi comms were very much mentor to young person, ol'Todd always fit the profile. Young upstart smushing technologies together and annoying a bunch of grey beards.
I also loved the idea of Satoshi hiding in plain sight and travelling the globe trolling fuck out of bitcoiners.
Certainly my fav possible Satoshi (not that any of it matters).
Who is Peter Todd? What's the general gist, like... how does he annoy Bitcoiners? I'm totally unfamiliar with him #asknostr
Watch the video and you'll see. He is just unapologetically argumentative, he trolls and has critiqued other people's work in detail and then dismissed them in public, but he is also right almost all of the time.
In the video, he enjoys trolling the video producer who is clearly trying to figure out who Satoshi is and who thinks they can do it better than everyone else as a professional investigative journalist.
Investigative journalists don't discover things... they report on what other people have discovered or want to leak who don't have an avenue to do it themselves.
Good doc tho tbf. Well made. Covers bitcoin in very positive and endearing way. Squeezes a lot into 1hr.
Yeah, he is right a lot of time and it is rather annoying.
My first reaction was negative at the beginning with all the memes and also all the varying quality of videos (I -just- got a 4k monitor 😅).
But as the movie progressed, I was impressed with the amount of information presented.
Peter Todd, being so young, would not have had the maturity (?) to disappear and burn the coins (or not move them).
That's what sold it to me. Only some youngster would dare build the thing all these grey beards had been trying to do forever.
You realize that he's a war hawk with extreme genocidal tendencies right? Nothing could be worse than him being Satoshi!
Totally agree, I highly doubt Satoshi would call to drop nucs on others countries.
