I loved reading "The ethics of money production"
Lots of learnings and documentation on the footnotes...
*Pope Leo XIII* wrote: “The first and most fundamental principle, therefore, if one would undertake to alleviate the condition of the masses, must be the inviolability of private property”
(Rerum Novarum, §§11, 15).
His successors have similarly emphasized the moral character of private property.
For example, *John XXIII* stated that “private ownership must be considered as a guarantee of the essential freedom of the individual, and at the same time an indispensable element in a true social order” (Mater et Magistra, §111).
