If you're following trending lists, you're not Nostring properly.
Everyone and their mother is looking at trending on Primal because they all use Primal and that's the first thing you see.
It's not like other apps, where you can just subscribe to a relay and the feed comes to life.
I legit can't see anything else on that app because I don't have follows and it doesn't show my relay feed. Which is why they auto-onboard everyone to a set list of follows. Including Odell. Which is why he is at the top and will remain there indefinitely.

In a sideways manner, if Primal is the issue...then they aren't Nostring, but a proxy of the experience. The onboarding makes up for that, I guess? 🤷🏻♂️
They're not fully-leveraging the protocol-defined architecture, but they say it makes for better UX.
It makes for a landing page with notes effectively pinned to the top, IMO. Makes it look like nobody else is active and keeps Primal users mostly off in their own ghetto, except for the occasional note from a normal user that inexplicably trends.

and just below all those of the Selected, will be endless hordes of people complaining about the Selected
Also, some apps display the Nostr.Band trending list.
He's also usually on the top of that one.

By forging your own path. Leading yourself instead of following what others intend for you.

I've been trying to explain to the others here, that this leaves a really bad impression on people, but nobody believes me.
My main issue is that original content doesn't flourish here, it's too echo-chambery at times.
I think if people posted more about other topics besides crypto or Nostr itself it would make it more appealing to outsiders.

Far as I gather the trending stuff on Primal is what’s trending across the entire network. If any other client was crawling and indexing all of Nostrland as Primal is doing then it'd be the same list.
that's mainly because they can't hear you for all the ALLCAPS
