I'm not sure if this answers your question, but we've been experimenting with teaching history of money through interactive and fun models in 30-minute sessions. The kids love the approach, even if they might not get the full grasp of the content. It's kinda like serving veggies in a form of a tasty snack; they dig in without realizing they're actually learning something valuable.
