I don't understand why these big guys don't self custody and cut out Coinbase. it seems dumb to pay another party to manage something you can manage yourself and also take on the risk of whatever shenanigans Coinbase does.

ofc, self custody is king but the accessibility for the masses with ETFs is important too as their first baby step into an orange world.
