Should the app automatically re-broadcast events about you to the relays that you write to?

This would reduce variability in the Notification feed when events come from only one relay and that relay suddenly be ones unavailable, making things disappear.

Thoughts?

Absolutely

Probably a good idea, the consistency is not great. 🐶🐾🫡

Why not...

In my understanding whole idea of nostr is to not get shut down so easily with relay cutoff and loose your content.

I support that idea.

Yes, probably. Maybe a subset, kinda 0, 1, 10002, most everything else is more contextual

Could that also be done with following and followers? Support this, think that is very important.

Sounds like a great idea. I think extending that to broadcasting events you reply to would also help your followers have a more robust experience.

When I am replying to something it can broadcast the parents..

How about an option to broadcast a user's notes to a specific relay like a private one for archiving.

What would be the reasons against?

imp Q hmm

Great idea for private-home relays as well...

It sounds reasonable. When you say “events about you” what do you mean? Users can’t really keep track of which relays their events are on, and it’s caused some unexpected behavior for me. But I also think users may try posting specific events to specific relays (almost like posting to a group) in the future so it’s important not to spread all events everywhere imo.

Maybe not all events but definitely the quoted or boosted post. I see many examples of a boost showing on a relay and the original post being unavailable.

Another feature in the future can be the posibility to export all your data and feed to a Relay. This is very usefull to store all your data in a home based private Relay. There are some apps that have that feature like NostrOS. It will be a great add to Amethyst Vitor. We all very happy with your work, congratulations 🥳

No

Not text events (unless I engage with the event?), but other events that can't really be used abusively, sure.

What are events?
