Braising is very underrated but works well mostly for cuts of meat with lots of collagen.
That being said, i would pick braised shank over a rosy tenderloin any day. There is no competition.

Yeah, braising doesn't work for a nice Ribeye! Braised meaty shank? Yup! Braised roast cooked with red wine? Double Yup! Ribeye? Gotta be on the grill!
That's why I said better than pan-seared, not grill ;)
