Anyone out there know why I would be getting charged a 100% fee transferring sats from Muun to WoS?

Anyone out there know why I would be getting charged a 100% fee transferring sats from Muun to WoS?

Also payment failed trying to buy nostr.wine relay with high fee and fee didn’t get refunded. Is that typical?

Muun is a fake LN wallet. It's all onchain and does submarine swaps both ways to interact with LN.
It **does not work** in a high fee environment.
Use their recovery tool to sweep all funds onchain with a normal fee and use something else.
Now only when the mempool is being stuffed like a sausage with monke JPEGs do people begin to discover that Muun is a total scam.
Darn. I had just started to settle in.
If you're looking for a self-custody solution that doesn't suck, try Phoenix or Breez. Real, self custody LN. They both have fees for channel opening obviously / LSP services.
Phoenix is my personal recommendation.
If you're looking for custodial: WoS, Alby, etc.
Because Muun isn’t a lightning wallet. It’s a terrible on-chain wallet that makes LN payments using submarine swaps. This makes it expensive to use and is bad for bitcoin scaling overall by putting way more transactions on-chain than needed and bloating the UTXO set with a ton of tiny UTXOs (which is another reason why fees are so expensive with it).
PSA: don’t use Muun.
And it can’t even zap. What more could you ask for. 🤣
Saludos.
Fees are out of control and some people are just now learning why it’s a shitty wallet.

WTF?
Who is charging them Munn or WoS?
It’s Muun. The wonderful nostriches helped me figure it out. Muun was charging on-chain fees to perform submarine swaps. Plus they kept showing my transactions failing while pocketing the fees. Outrageous. Won’t make that mistake again.
Wow. Maybe wait until the fees are lower then
I ended up clearing my Muun wallet on-chain and will live in WoS for now! Just absolutely laughable:

what happened
Muun wallet bad, #[4] good
Haha. but Muun is non custodial. Its like the money under your pillow.
Did you incur high fee when sending or receiving?
100-200% fees for a lightning transaction, but didn’t realize they were doing submarine swaps and were charging me fees for on-chain transactions. A couple lightning payments failed but I lost over 10k sats in fees on those failed transactions
I tried sending 200k sat to getalby and they charged me 2k sats only.
Anyway i closed my muun too after reading your post
Were you using a lightning address on an onchain address?
Lightning address

Weird, fees are really low within WoS but when you send to other wallets they may have to open channels but that shouldn’t cost more than 2-3K in sats.
Muun is way cheaper. I did my first withdraw yesterday. I send my sats from WoS to Muun.
Looks like he had a different experience not sure if this is a setting or something to avoid these high fees but strange
Yeah that’s odd this was my transaction to my ledger yesterday from moon only cost like 1600 sats in fees. WoS is usually 9,000-12,000 in fees for me.

Avoid posting txid and info online it’s bad Opsec even if small amounts
Oh really? Thanks didn’t know.
Lol. I closed my muun wallet too. Using getalby for now. Hopefully @bumi could figure out a multisig or self custody solution for us

Phoenix Wallet is great if you want a non custodian lightning wallet
